Damn you Iceland

So we made it here (Germany) and we're having an awesome time.  I had no idea about the Icelandic Volcanic Ash situation (as I'm now calling it) until late our first day here.  However, despite the fact that we made it here safe and sound, our Rome flights have been cancelled. SO, we've rented a car and we'll be driving the TWELVE hours from Ramstein to Rome.  We'll do it in shifts and we'll drive through the night, starting tomorrow.  We're thinking of taking a trip to Paris on Friday now that we have the car longer than we thought we would.  SO stay tuned for posts on our adventures, who knows what we'll encounter on our new travels through Germany, Switzerland and Italy!

And because I hate posting without a photo, look what I found for the kids today!  I had to buy them.  They cost a fortune but the craftsmanship is amazing and it was worth every penny seeing them play in the outfits today.  People even came out on the street to look at them.  At first I thought it was because they thought we were a bunch of losers, but they loved them in the traditional clothes!
To answer your question, yes, Jack is wearing leiderhosen, and yes, his face is dirty.  He was playing outside all day, cut the kid some slack.  He actually cried when he saw them, but now he doesn't want to take them off!  And the hat?  Come on!

I'm off for a good night's sleep.  Tomorrow's going to be a long day!

And btw: - see the good side of your road trip to Italy. You get to see the beautiful alps and make a stop at the "Gardasee" if you have time. It´s worth it...
Have fun!
