This year we decided to head south to get the hell out of dodge and this crappy weather.  We basically closed our eyes and chose the Outer Banks of NC.

I rented a great house on the fly, which ended up being perfect.  Super large, a block from the beach and right behind Jockey's Ridge Park (huuuuuuge sand dunes).  We had a couple of beach days, then it was hoodie and jeans days.  It's all right.  It was relaxing, beautiful and best of all - no snow (for the record it totally snowed in Buffalo while we were away...in April).

We laid on the beach, flew kites, went shopping, climbed the sand dunes (uh, ok, the kids did that), visited lighthouses and enjoyed long nights with movies and good food.  A week well spent.
