This one has quite the imagination lately.
It started a couple of months ago when, at lunch, she stared into my eyes and told me (very seriously, mind you) that she had a tail.
'A tail?', I asked.
'Yes. A tail. It only comes out when I'm going to bed and no one can see it by mommy and daddy.' '
'Well what about your pajamas? Where does the tail go?'
'Mommy cuts holes in all of my pajamas so my tail can come out.'
Good enough. Then I asked why I didn't have a tail. I was told that it was because I didn't wish for it when I was in my mommy's tummy. Well of course that's why. Stupid me.
I then, through the weeks, began hearing about her four brothers (she's an only child). Riley, Luke, Aaron, and (wait for it) Sevario. So I apparently have 4 more nephews that I've been seriously neglecting. Sorry guys!
Fast forward to this week. I was watching the YouTube video of the man saving his dog by throwing a raccoon. Emma looked up at me and said, 'Nenna, I'm part raccoon.' Her face was one of solemnnity. She was part raccoon damnit, and she was a little offended that I'd dare laugh at a raccoon being thrown over a fence.
OF COURSE YOU ARE!!!!
I asked if that's why she had a tail and I got a pretty big eye roll. No. The tail is not from being part raccoon - it's from wishing for a tail in mommy's tummy (at least she's consistent).
Huh - even I've met Sevario. ;)
