5th Grade Promotion...

Ugh.  Guys I was so not ready for this.  Madeline leaving elementary school.  Why???  Can't she just stay 10 for like, 10 more years? But no.  In the Fall she's off to middle school and all of the icky drama that entails (I was once a pre-teen, I know what she's in for).

But, trying to stay in the present, here are a few pictures of her promotion ceremony.  It was so sweet.  All of the 5th graders walked down the aisle to "Pomp and Circumstance", which can make anyone with a heart cry.  Then they sang a few songs (Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" and Rascal Flatts "My Wish"), and again, tears.

Madeline had a speaking part in the ceremony, and she memorized and delivered it like a star.  Guess what!  Tears!!!!
Then they received their certificates.  And...yeah, more tears.

Maddy and her teacher.

I'm just so proud of the little lady she's become.  So kind and funny and adventurous and silly.  Smart and inquisitive and sensitive and full of life.  Get ready 6th grade, you're getting a good one!
