Home Improvement

So I'm starting to get all of my ducks in a row for my spring home projects.  Said projects include:

  • New dark, wide plank hardwoods (most likely a high quality laminate) in the living room, dining room and kitchen (which all connect to one another).
  • New kitchen counters
  • Recessed lighting above the fireplace in the living room, and
  • New lighting in the family room
I've decided on almost everything at this point and I'm just waiting for spring to get it all started.  Here are a few sneak peaks into what I'm looking at:

Corian for the counter.   Of course the picture is crapola but its a warm chocolate brown with flecks of warmer tones).  It's called 'canyon'.

And this is the coloring of the floor.  But a 5" plank I think.

Thoughts?

Have you had corian before? We have it now..not a huge fan...there is something you can buy priceed between Corian and Granite, look into it. I hate how relatively easily it gets scratched. Also, go for laminate flooring over PREFINISHED hardwoods...they will last a LOT longer.
