School's Out for SUMMER

Today was the last day of school here.  It was an emotional day for me, I'm not sure why.  Well, I know why.  Because everyone at both Madeline and Jack's schools have decided to amp up the emotional impact of the departure just to screw with me.

At Madeline's school all of the teachers gathered outside and signaled the start of summer by waving all of the busses away.  The busses honked their horns and the kids all waved out of the windows.  It just seemed so poignant.  The teachers did their jobs and now they're saying good bye.  Ugh.  I was teary all day after that.
And then came Jack's Pre-School Graduation.  Don't even get me started on that business.  Pictures are being downloaded and story to come tomorrow.

In the meantime, enjoy summer kids.  Summer vacation is all but a distant memory to me (the last one I had was about 87 years ago...at least it seems that way), but I know its the start of something wonderful for the little ones out there!  Swimming and sleepovers and sleeping in.  Perfection.
