This is me on a rant...forewarned is forearmed.
Today Miss Madeline was waiting outside of her house with my sister when the bus arrived. The bus is fully stopped, red lights on, stop sign extended from bus. Just as Maddy is given the go ahead from the bus driver to cross the street a woman in a jeep cruises down the road and nearly hits Madeline with her car. The only reason she didn't is because my sister and the bus driver saw that she had no intention of stopping and they started screaming. When she did stop she rolled down her window and yelled (yes, she's classy) "She [the bus driver] didn't have her lights on soon enough! She just threw them on!". Two notes on that:
1. Not true
2. It's 7:30am, you see a school bus, a mother and a child. The bus is stopped. Do you cruise on through?
I'm pissed. This is the second time this has happened. The first time it was a We Care bus (a bus that transports people to hospitals, etc. -they just obviously don't care about children). Cruised right by.
And let me state that it's not as though Mad has to walk across the thruway. It's a road. Where the speed limit is 30.
So, after all that, my PSA.
School is in session. SLOW DOWN. Stop when you see a bus. Use common sense. There is nowhere you need to be so badly that you try to cruise by a school bus when it's stopped loading or unloading children.
Ugh.

ooooh, that makes my blood boil. it would be one thing if she completely had a mental lapse and was truly upset by her actions (although I'd still be mad at her for not taking caution around a friggin school bus), but for her to lash back? unreal.
is there anyway to get her in trouble if you had grabbed the license plate?
You should have gotten her license plate number and reported it. You could have done a citizen's arrest or at least reported it. They would have looked in to it. Next time, God forbid, it happens, get that info and report it!
