Friday night's all right for...

Coloring. Madeline had a sleep over at my house yesterday and we spent the night coloring Yo Gabba Gabba posters. It was awesome. Just the two of use, singing to the random music coming up on itunes, coloring and laughing. We discovered that our lips are the color of a 'pink sherbet' crayon. Who knew? I just love that kid, she's fantastic. Although...she is developing a bit of an attitude, apparently something all of the 6 year old girls are doing. Awesome. You want them to grow up, but then you don't want them to do all of the inherent crap that goes with growing up. But she's still an incredibly smart, beautiful, caring, thoughtful and funny little girl.

Poor Jack has a stomach bug, as does my mom. It appears to be the same one my sister and I had in San Diego. I had BETTER not get it again. I'm going to assume I won't- power of positive thinking and all that. Ick.

It was nearly 50 degrees here today, and it felt like heaven. Of course, with beautiful temps we were treated to insane winds (I think my neighbor's trampoline has made another appearance in my backyard). Regardless of the gale force winds I vacuumed my car (MUCH overdue thanks to Jack eating a hard roll in my car), cleaned my house, felt altogether motivated. I need spring here NOW - or yesterday.

Anyway, I'm off to do a little more organizing and then I'm going to lie in bed and read "Unaccustomed Earth", a FANTASTIC book by Jhumpa Lahiri . It's a series of 8 short stories and they're incredible. She's the author of "The Namesake", which was a fantastic movie. I love it when I find good books and can't wait for my day to be over to read them. For some reason I never read at any other time.

Happy Saturday! xoxo

P.S. This is my 500th post. Holla! I was thinking I'd do something really grand for this outstanding achievement but...if I waited to do that I never would have actually had a 500th post! Thanks for reading - I'm glad you stop by!
